‘Life is too expensive in Westchester; every time we watch or read the news, one must imagine that crime and drug use must not be a priority for our current assembly member.’

(Published Aug. 20, 2024) – As Mount Pleasant residents for some time, we fear our representation in Albany has become way too comfortable in their incumbency, and therefore complacent in their duty to look out for our collective best interests as taxpayers. We, and many of our friends, believe we need a representative who prioritizes our community’s immediate needs.

Every grocery trip reminds us that life is just too expensive in Westchester, and every time we watch or read the news, one must imagine that crime and drug use must not be a priority for our current assemblymember. The current Democratic supermajority makes one thing perfectly clear: one-party rule is a disaster.

Rather than the Assembly, Senate, executive office and courts providing checks and balances on one another, they act as reliable rubber stamps for increasingly progressive policies and legislation.

Then, when things crash and burn like the get-out-of-jail card that is no cash bail, no one is held accountable. Just about everything currently ailing New York is either the result of, or exacerbated by, legislation rammed through Albany with zero opposition.

We recently met Alessandro Crocco who is running for Assembly and very much like what he has to say. Alessandro is a small business owner raising a young family in Hartsdale and he really understands our struggles.

He is particularly aggrieved by the escalating cost of living placed upon New Yorkers by Albany politicians. It is refreshing to hear him speak of relief for families by reducing taxes and unburdening job creators by reducing oppressive payroll taxes and regulations.

Crocco also stated his resolve to keep career criminals behind bars and to end disastrous policies that enable illegal migration with hotel stays and cell phones.

It is time we do something different in order to restore sanity in Albany.

We owe it to ourselves and our families to make things better and safer in Westchester, and we will be encouraging our friends and neighbors to join us in doing exactly that, by electing Alessandro Crocco to the Assembly. ##
