Congressman Mike Lawler spent the day [Saturday] in Manhattan attending various Jewish events and showing his support.
He first participated in the Israel Day Parade as an Honorary Marshal in a show of unwavering support to Israel.
He was then honored at Touro University where he delivered the keynote address and was presented with a “Doctor of Humane Letters” degree in recognition of his advocacy for the Jewish community.

“It was an honor to march in the Israel Day Parade and provide the keynote address at Touro University’s Commencement,” said Congressman Lawler in a statement to Rockland Daily.
“It’s clear that the Jewish community in New York is vibrant, growing, and stronger than ever.
“I’m proud to represent one of the largest Jewish populations in America, and will continue to support Israel and fight antisemitism wherever it appears.”
“There are many challenges we face right now, from rising antisemitism to multiple conflicts across the globe, to an economy that isn’t quite working for everyone,” Mike Lawler told the graduates.
“Go out there and make a difference and now, the future of our society is in your hands—help make a better world for those that will follow you.”
