‘THE NATIONAL PULSE’ – Why the GOP is right to be pro-active against the nightmare scenario of non-citizen voting (Editorial)

Congressional Republicans have introduced the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to address what is becoming a very serious concern for U.S. election integrity.

If the 2020 U.S. presidential election was marred by rampant voter fraud — abetted by the COVID-19 pandemic and mass mail-in voting — the 2024 contest is shaping up to be potentially worse due to the mounting problem of noncitizen voters.

The lack of election law enforcement, meddling by the Biden government, and outdated voter rolls have created a nightmare scenario where countless illegal immigrants and other noncitizens have been able to register to vote in the November election.

Congressional Republicans have introduced the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to address what is becoming a very serious concern for U.S. election integrity.

The bill proposes amendments requiring proof of citizenship for individuals who register to vote at departments of motor vehicles (DMVs) and other state agencies. It also mandates the removal of foreign nationals from state voting registers.

Democrats and their corporate media allies, meanwhile, are already laying the groundwork to dismiss the impact that noncitizens could have on the 2024 presidential contest.

The Associated Press (AP), while conceding there are numerous documented instances of noncitizens voting, contends the issue is just “a leading election-year talking point for Republicans.”

MORE THAN A TALKING POINT.

The National Pulse has extensively reported on numerous instances of noncitizen voters casting ballots in federal, state, and local elections across the county.

In South Carolina, a noncitizen — through no fault of her own — was repeatedly sent voter registration forms by the state’s Medicaid administrator. She reported the receipt of the forms to state election officials. State officials said they are required by federal law to provide the voter forms, even to noncitizens.

In neighboring North Carolina, federal prosecutors have filed charges against 37 noncitizens for illegally voting in state and federal elections. By a three-to-one ratio, these individuals supported Democrats over Republican candidates.

Even more troubling, one of the federal attorneys who handled most of the North Carolina prosecutions acknowledged election officials appeared more likely to register noncitizens they believed would likely support Democrat candidates.

The taxpayer-funded election board for Washington, D.C., has held train seminars to instruct noncitizens on how to vote in municipal elections.

In March, a federal judge upheld a Democrat-backed D.C. law that allows noncitizens to cast a ballot for city government election contests.

Noncitizen voters could also impact the critical presidential battle-ground state of Pennsylvania.

An administrative complaint filed against the Pennsylvania State Department alleges that an election directive issued in 2018 may allow noncitizens and other ineligible individuals to register to vote and subsequently cast ballots in state and federal elections.

Ineligible voters participating in U.S. elections should be a top concern for our government and lawmakers.

Only U.S. citizens have the right to cast a ballot in state and federal elections, and allowing noncitizens to vote fraudulently will only further undermine the American people’s trust in our democratic process. ##
